KDC STARTS CONSTRUCTION ON MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR OFFICE FACILITY FOR PEROT SYSTEMS AT UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA TECHNOLOGY PARK
New 150,000 square foot facility to be the largest private LEED certified project in the state

DALLAS, TX – – KDC, one of America’s leading real estate and investment companies, started construction on a multi-million dollar office facility for Perot Systems, a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions. The new 150,000 square foot facility, located at the University of Nebraska Technology Park in Lincoln, Neb., is one of the state’s largest private construction projects seeking LEED certification.

The new two-story facility will feature a number of green attributes including raised access flooring and under floor air distribution. In addition to these sustainable design elements, the facility also will feature redundant power through generators for uninterrupted electricity and redundant sonnet rings for uninterrupted telecommunications. KDC also will develop a technology service delivery center at the new facility.

“This project represents a great team effort between the public and private sectors, resulting in a unique campus facility for Perot Systems that is cost efficient and environmentally responsible,” said Steve Van Amburgh, CEO of KDC.

The majority of Perot Systems’ current Lincoln workforce, which totals around 1,000 associates, will be housed in the new facility. Construction is scheduled for completion by the third quarter of 2009 and will make Lincoln one of Perot Systems’ largest U.S. employment locations. The company has leased the build-to-suit facility for 10 years.

“Perot Systems thanks the City of Lincoln, The Lincoln Chamber of Commerce and the University of Nebraska Technology Park for the opportunity to expand our operations in this great city,” stated Scott Barnes, vice president of Infrastructure Solutions (IS) for Perot Systems.

Bob Edge, Gary Collett, Mari Jones, Meg Hardin and Matt Heidelbaugh with Cushman & Wakefield of Texas, Inc. represented Perot Systems during the transaction. Ab Atkins, senior vice president of KDC, represented the developer.
