KDC ANNOUNCES 10 LEED ACCREDITED PROFESSIONALS
100 Percent of KDC’s Office and Build-to-Suit Projects in Development are Green

DALLASKDC, one of America’s leading commercial real estate development and investment firms, is pleased to announce that 10 individuals have earned their Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional (AP) credentials.

Each individual passed the rigorous LEED NC Version 2.2 exam and have obtained the status of LEED AP:

• Rick Heymann, vice president, LEED AP
• Melanie June, project manager, LEED AP
• Terri McCuen, administrative assistant, LEED AP
• Sean McDonnell, vice president, LEED AP
• Don Mills, executive vice president, LEED AP
• Kurt Petersen, vice president, LEED AP
• Mike Rosamond, executive vice president, LEED AP
• Philip Sharp, vice president, LEED AP
• James Williams, vice president, LEED AP
• Jim Wrightsman, vice president, LEED AP

“I am honored to recognize the achievement of 10 of our KDC team members and to recognize their hard work and dedication to being at the forefront of ‘green’ development and education as LEED accredited professionals,” said Steve Van Amburgh, CEO, KDC. “Their accomplishments further KDC’s commitment to sustainable building by providing both our company, and more importantly, our clients, with the knowledge, resources and services to develop LEED-certified buildings.”

The Green Building Certification Institute, established by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), coordinates exam development and delivery to allow for objective, balanced management of the credentialing program. LEED Professional Accreditation distinguishes building professionals with the knowledge and skills to successfully steward the LEED-certification process.

LEED-certification is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings used by the USGBC, which promotes buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work. LEED Accredited Professionals (LEED APs) demonstrate a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles of the LEED Green Building Rating System and facilitate the integrated design process.

Currently, 100 percent of KDC’s office and build-to-suit projects in development are “green.” These projects include: AAA Regional Operations Center, Oklahoma City; Intellicenter-Riverside, Riverside, Calif.; Intellicenter-Tampa, Tampa, Fla.; NorthPointe Trade Center Industrial Buildings, Austin, Texas; and Perot Systems Office Facility; Lincoln, Neb.

KDC projects completed within the last two years also have been awarded LEED Certification. The Chevron Office Building in Covington, La. received LEED Gold Certification in 2008. Intellicenter-Atlanta received LEED Silver Certification in 2007.

In addition to these projects, in 2005 KDC launched Intellicenter – a branded, high-performance “green” office building program in multiple markets across the United States. The Intellicenter program will result in 2 million square feet of LEED certified office buildings with a projected total investment in excess of $400 million.
