KDC’s commitment to sustainable design began ten years ago, at a time when the concept was still considered unconventional. We established our role as a GREEN leader in the industry with these two ground-breaking projects:
• In 1999, the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) regional headquarters in Kansas City was the first green project completed by KDC. It was awarded the prestigious Presidential Closing the Circle Award for the environmentally sensitive design.
• In 2001, the Ford Premier Automotive Group headquarters in Irvine, CA was the first building in Orange County to qualify for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
KDC believes one of the most important elements of building GREEN is fully understanding and implementing sustainability practices every step of the way. By doing so, we utilize our natural resources in such a way that we meet our clients’ needs while preserving the environment for future generations.
