As a veteran of KDC, Mountford has developed more than 7 million square feet of commercial projects during his 30-year KDC tenure. His daily responsibilities include leading the planning and execution of development projects from site acquisition to completion and assembling development teams of architects, contractors and support staff for various design-build jobs.
Mountford launched his commercial real estate career in San Diego with KDC's predecessor, The Koll Company, which was headquartered in Newport Beach, California. In addition to working on multi-tenant industrial developments, he led the design and construction of the 560-acre Carlsbad Research Center Park in Carlsbad, CA.
After opening Koll’s Riverside, California office, Mountford relocated to New Hampshire, where he entitled and repositioned a historic resort into a mixed-use project. He then moved to Denver, where he partnered with well-known national retailers to develop big-box stores.
He joined KDC’s Dallas office in 1996 with his first project, the Environmental Protection Agency’s build-to-suit regional headquarters in Kansas City, MO.
Mountford earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics with cum laude honors from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and attended Harvard Graduate School of Business. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute.
A resident of Dallas, Mountford is married with six children and two grandchildren.
